We liked the books about the horseshoe crabs the best, followed by The Legend of the Cranberry.
We are studying the states in order of statehood. Each week we find the state on the map, read and discuss the books, and connect the stories to the area by using maps or Google Earth. Each day we work in Explode the Code Book 2 and Singapore 2A
This week our family picked and mailed the quilt fabric toour state quilt partner. We are mostly buying fat quarters and cutting them in half to share. Here is the fabric we chose for tall ships in Delaware history.
We are still deciding on a quilt pattern, but we are pretty sure we are going to use one of these half hexagon rulers from the Missouri Quilt Company — 10 inch or 5 inch. Hunter really likes this quilt. Once we decide, we will sew a block for each state every week.

Okay this is super cool! I saw it shown over on All Things Beautiful and had to check it out. I wish I’d seen this before we were 15 states into our state study.
