We had a fabulous day at the coast yesterday.
We enjoyed the tide pools off 15th street in Lincoln City. Great idea Angie! No “sneaker” waves this time!
In 18 years this is the flattest ocean I’ve ever seen on the Oregon Coast — almost no wind and warm! Heavenly!
While the boys were occupied with catching small crabs in the tide pools…
…and Kelly was scuba diving in the jetty…
…and the boys were shore fishing and Kelly was spear fishing…
Somehow I needed to pick up 10 stitches on one side of the heel and 13 stitches on the other side. I think it was the turning of those first few stitches in the beginning of the heel. This sock might sag on one side, or maybe it won’t be noticeable since they are slouchy style. The beachy colors look great AT the beach too.
Oh, and I am doing more reading for pleasure lately. I am enjoying this book.
Joining Ginny and her husband Jonny for the Yarn Along. Knitting is the only thing I can do that Kelly hasn’t learned yet. Kelly can sew and do needlepoint because his Mom taught him. I love versatile husbands who are willing to pick up a new skill to impress their wives.
Kelly made two dives and brought home the bacon, er, 21 fish yesterday. Oh wait, he gave away 7 to a nice shore fisherman. We have 14 perch and sea bass in the fridge.
The nice shore fisherman gave us some cool scallop fossils that he and his children found on the beach. Our boys each have one to crack open with a hammer.
I love the 15th St. tide pools!
